Heaven On The Hill

I love this place! I don't get here often because we share the same working hours but its always a lovely welcome when I do. The food is great, the cakes are made with love and the hospitality is second to none. Its a real gem of a café and an asset to the West Hill area of Portishead.

Best cafe in Portishead. Food fabulous. Best pancakes (banana, maple and pecan). Such lovely staff you feel like part of the family. Amazing cakes. You have to try it. Amazing with the kids and breastfeeding.

Well deserving of 5 STARS. A cheap breakfast is generally a "you get what pay for" thing, so much to our surprise was the quality and portion we were served. Actually shared one hearty breakfast between the two of us and walked away completely satisfied. Eggs were tasty, bacon was super crispy (perfect) and pancakes were delicious! Also must say... the photos we found in advance online do not come across at all accurate. It was charming in character and we even chose to sit outside (which in the photos appeared very undesirable). Found the surroundings (all things considered) to be quite pleasant. Yes, this is not a marina side breakfast. But if your number one concern is quality food and great price, this is an easy winner. If your main concern is otherwise, then lots of places you can go and pay double for hopefully good food and nicer scenery. At the very least, everyone should give these business a try at least once. If we were locals... this would be our place of choice. Thanks "Heaven on the Hill"!

Wonderful place, with incredible cakes! I recently requested a box of made-to order cupcakes and they were absolutely fantastic! So beautiful and affordably priced, I will definitely be requesting more! It's also one of our favourite places to eat in; the service here is always fantastic, the staff could not be friendlier and nothing is too much trouble! Definitely one of Portishead's best kept secrets!

The ladies at Heaven on the Hill gave us a brilliant lunch last week. So bright and positive despite all that they have been through (along with all the hospitality industry) during the past 15 months. We went for a Birthday lunch, they made a personalised birthday cake for us and were incredibly welcoming and accommodating for our 3 young children and even pet pooch! Food was delicious. Can't recommend enough. If only we lived closer (just visiting on a holiday) we'd be regulars!!

I went to pick up my Daughter's corgi cupcakes for her 10th birthday... Only to find out I gave Heaven on the Hill the wrong date. My face must have turned white because Vicki looked right at me and with absolute calm she said "don't panic we can do this". She gracefully went and got Sam and within 10 minutes we had the most amazing corgi cupcakes. Better than we had ever expected. And they were very very delicious. Thank you so much Vicki and Sam. You made our day.

Great value food with a good range of choices. But as a coeliac the real bonus is the range of gluten free options for everything. Today's I had freshly homemade pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup which was fantastic. Fry up with gf fried bread and sausages, cakes, french toast - the options are endless which is so unusual. Highly recommended.
